How long have you been in business?
In 2002, Ms. Reed founded Reed Law Corporation, PC. She has counseled real estate, corporate and national telecommunication clients through her law practice.
What is your primary product or service?
Broad and deep experience in real estate law, including transactional, project, ownership and dispute matters. Specifically, acquisition, disposition, development, title and survey review and issue resolution, land use entitlement, leasing, finance, and joint-ventures. Experience across all major property types, including office, industrial, retail, multifamily, residential and raw land.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Before founding her law firm, Ms. Reed was an attorney with Latham & Watkins LLP in the finance and real estate department in Orange County and with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in the real estate practice group in both Philadelphia and Los Angeles. At both firms she advised national and regional clients on diverse real estate matters.
Ms. Reed began her legal career at a litigation firm in Los Angeles. She worked on complex litigation matters in the practice areas of telecommunications fraud, toxic torts, strict products liability, entertainment law, and insurance bad faith. In addition, she participated in extensive insurance coverage work within the construction defect area.
Prior to graduating from law school, Ms. Reed was a judicial extern to The Honorable Peter W. Bowie, United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of California. She drafted bench memoranda, summarized motions and researched various bankruptcy matters taken under submission.
Before embarking on her legal career, Ms. Reed worked as a resident counselor at a Los Angeles orphanage where she administered therapeutic care to abused children. Most of the children were placed in the facility by court order due to physical, sexual and emotional abuse or severe neglect.
Ms. Reed is a member of the state bars of both California and Pennsylvania. She is also licensed as a broker by the California Department of Real Estate. Ms. Reed graduated with a B.A. in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach and a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.
